In Dedication to Helen Machtolff, LPN.....Published 2/25/2011

Helen was a graduate of the Guthrie High School Class of ’68. Her high school activities included cheerleading and pom-pom. April 16, 1971 she married George Machtolff, III and they began a family and life in Guthrie. Together they attended Expressway Air Park receiving their ground school training. In 1974, they moved to Edmond, OK were she attended Central State University and was accepted into Oklahoma Vocational School of Nursing. She received her LPN license in 1976 while raising 3 small boys. In the next phase of her life, she found herself at the Oklahoma University of Short Courses where she received her Oklahoma and National License as a Nursing Home Administrator. The next few years were spent running Morning Star and Evening Star nursing homes. In 1980 they returned to Guthrie where she quickly became an active member of the Guthrie community. She helped George run Pioneer Meat Company in Guthrie. After many years of managing the family owned Territorial Best Western, they purchased the Harrison House, Victor Building, and George’s Elegant Dining in 1996. She enjoyed these years wining and dining the Guthrie community. Her many activities included an active member of car club CC Riders and president of Flash Backs, organizing the Guthrie Road celebration, president of Guthrie Chamber of Commerce, Guthrie citizen of the Year in 2001, board member of the LMC Foundation, and the Logan County Arts and Humanities Council, member of the Guthrie Rotary club, Oklahoma Tractor Pull Association (OKTPA), and a sister of Beta Sigma Phi for 40 years. Some of her best memories were the years spent racing Sand Rail Dune buggies.
Due to illness, she decided to spend her time enjoying her family and friends and giving back to her Guthrie community.
Helen was preceded in death by her “Daddy” Ralph Brouchoud and her brother Kenneth Brouchoud.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, George of the home; three children Greg Machtolff and wife Gina, their children Jynnae, Josh, Alyson, Gilson, and Greylyn, Wayne Machtolff and his boys Court and Brant, and Shawn Machtolff and wife Kristen, their children Kallie, Gracynn, Kelton, Emmy, and Annyssa.
