HPV (Human Papillomavirus) is the most common sexually-transmitted disease in the United States. In an effort to increase the awareness of Oklahoma women about this disease, OU Physicians is currently conducting research to assess knowledge and attitudes about HPV and educating women who have the virus.

The Oklahoma Press Association's annual Better Newspaper Contest awarded The Edmond Sun first place in feature writing for a group of stories written by Sun Feature Editor James Coburn. OPA Division 1 daily newspapers with a circulation exceeding 9,000 subscribers competed for the honor. The contest was judged by the Montana Press Association and winners were recognized on February 11th.
